What if your best friend is only a fiction in reality?

At the peak of their friendship, Christian Scholz discovers that his friend Thomas never existed in the way he portrayed himself. A BEAUTIFUL WORLD

Short Movie | Drama | 2007

“Between hope and fear, the viewer suffers guilt and atonement, and is led to the question of whether history really has to be inevitable?” – interfilm Berlin

On a scorching summer day in a coastal suburb, Michal (48) encounters a friendly young man (22) at a bus stop.

For Michal, it starts as an ordinary day; once again, he waits at the bus stop for his family to join him, intending to visit his daughter's grave together. His daughter was killed in a terrorist attack, a fate the young man shares as he drops his detonator. He lost his mother to enemy soldiers and today seeks revenge. He coerces Michal onto the bus bound for the nearest city. Both are victims, and during the bus ride, they forge an extraordinary bond.

But for both, there's only one way out: Michal must resist to survive, and Jamal must detonate the bomb before being eliminated by the military.
